Date of Stay: October 8, 2016
Planning a trip to Shiloh Military Park in Tennessee, the trusty internet told me the state park at Pickwick Dam was 12 miles and 14 minutes away.
The Tennessee Valley Authority completed the Pickwick Dam on the Tennessee River in 1938, and Pickwick Dam is a significant producer of hydroelectric energy for the area.
I pulled in to the campground and spoke with the camp host in Loop A, who told me I had my choice of sites. It was October, and a weekday to boot, and not very busy. I had a nice view of the reservoir from my coach windows in Loop C, and I was within walking distance to the Botel, a motel and restaurant.
