Follow the pillars of flame off Interstate 215 to the Pony Express RV Resort. Those flames are generated by the oil refinery a stone’s throw away from the park. The 215 Freeway is adjacent to the park on two sides. The third side abuts State Route 68. The fourth side is the oil refinery.

Even though the traffic noise can be loud, the park is very convenient to downtown Salt Lake City; there are few RV Parks in the metropolitan area. The park is also well-maintained. The office is bright and neat and clean. You will receive cookies on check-in. Golf carts escort RVs to their concrete pads.  Hookups are state of the art and include lighting.

There is a playground for the kiddos, and a fenced-in horseshoe pit which would be better utilized as a leash-free dog area, as currently there is none. Facilities also include restrooms and laundry, although I did not visit them.

The security gate for ingress and egress is modern and easy to operate with a code.

A premium site is $44 plus tax. Given its proximity to the city and how well-maintained it is, it is worth the price.
