Manatee Hammock County Park (Titusville, Florida)

Dates of Stay: December 12 – 15, 2016

Operated by Brevard County, Florida, Manatee Hammock is a bargain for the Space Coast at $26 per night, $555 per month (30 amp service). There are many seasonal/longer-term residents there, including people in tents, leaving the impression that some campers are living in the margins.

The camp overlooks the Indian River Lagoon and the most popular and most-utilized launch pad at NASA, making it very popular during lift-offs. Unfortunately, we were there 10 days before the next event!

The park is on a busy Highway 1 and not really within walking distance to anything. However, it’s a nine-mile, 11-minute drive to the Kennedy Space Center and all that NASA has to offer. I highly recommend that tour.
